The information on this website was compiled by BJ Maloney, a freelance writer/researcher with an interest in issues related to social justice, health, law and ethics. Maloney has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a BA in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo.
Maloney has followed the abortion issue in Canada for the past 15 years, and in that time, has realized how much misinformation/misunderstanding exists–among the public, the media, policymakers, etc.–regarding the legal status of abortion in Canada and, in particular, what the Supreme Court decided when it struck down Canada’s abortion law in 1988. This website is an attempt to help clear up that misunderstanding.
